December 6, 2016 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

If you are interested in uber driving, I assume You’ve heard about many successful stories from uber drivers around the world. Each has different experience and earnings. So, to answer this question it will depend on certain different factors. Some folks make the uber driving like their 9-5 job. However, you can actually set your own schedule. For instance, you just drive on weekends from 9 to 3. Choosing specific hours is a wise action since you will be able to maintain your quality time. For starters, it is a bit tricky to keep up.

Uber drivers can make around $15 – $30 per hour. In Toronto, you can make between $22 – $30 an hour. If you do the driving full time, depending on your location, you can make as much as $32,000 on annual basis. That is the number after you exclude all expenses.

Uber drivers can make about $20 an hour on average. Here in Tampa FL, I make between $22–$24 an hour. Uber drivers in New York can make over $30 average. If you drive full-time, and depend on your location, you can make as much as $35,000 annually after all expenses.

For those who want to earn more money in their leisure time, Uber is definitely way to go. It offers an easy access for everyone who want to work in an industry. Uber also give the freedom to the drivers to work with their own schedule. The great thing about it is that you don’t have to be working under the bounding contract of a taxi firm. That’s why you can enjoy working at your own pace and will.

Presuming that you maintain a good service as driver, you can expect the exact number I mentioned before. However, not all people can work as hard as you. Some may get a normal taxi fee with such flexible schedule. After all, this kind of opportunity does not necessarily take the full time. In fact, most drivers consider this as part-time job.

Presuming that you are working up to 20 hour per week (part-time), you can earn between $200-$400 on weekly basis. The great thing is that you can decide to work as full-time or part-time driver whenever you want. With such good earning potential, you can still drive while work your main job as well. For instance, I drive on weekends only since I have 9-5 Mon-Fri job. I am able to make $300 on weekly basis, adding with tips it will be around $400. Imagine how much you can make if you work harder than me.

Tipping an Uber Driver?

November 14, 2016 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

Since the coming of online ridesharing services, there have a lot of opportunities as well as cultures been born into the society. We are so grateful that this online system could allow us to get our ride faster and more effective. With the coming of this whole new system there are also a lot of questions asked for those who are still new in this so-called culture. Online booking means that there is also online payment, and we just don’t know yet what are the costs included in the fees and we would think twice if it is right about tipping an uber driver or not.

Indeed, a payment with online system as its basis will bring a lot of practicality and helped you a lot in saving time and effort to provide the appropriate amount, change, and so on, but first, without starting to judge anything, you should know how the payment works. It is funny to think that most people assuming the tip is already included in the payment along with the other costs, but in fact, there are nothing like tipping or similar included in the details. Some people just think that they aren’t allowed to give any tips to the driver like it is a company policy. Well, it could be accepted since the website itself mentioned “no need to tip” and there is no tipping feature in the app itself.

Meanwhile, it is safer to assume that people who are working as associates with Uber will gladly accept the tips, if there is any, but judging from the company and the various apps itself make us think as if the tip is already included, so personal tipping outside the payment is no longer necessary. In fact, only or Uber Taxi includes gratuity, which allows the driver to own 20% of the payment you made with the app. You should know that Uber Taxi is very different from UberX which is calling a normal cab for you so all the payment should be done physically.

So, if you find tipping is a common practice in your area, then maybe you should give some to Uber drivers except for the ones which are made with Uber Taxi (with 20% gratuity included). Uber drivers are said to be able to get less payment than regular taxi drivers, but they also have to pay increasing prices for insurance, gas, and car maintenance. Next time you use one, make sure to consider tipping an Uber driver!

Being an Toronto Uber Driver – The Pros and Cons

November 9, 2016 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

You may have heard many success stories about Uber drivers who make thousand dollars per month just by driving the passengers 5 to 7 hours a day in Toronto. Leaving your 9-5 job can make a huge difference in your life. But just like any other job, being an uber driver has its own advantages and disadvantages. What are they?

Being an Uber driver gives you ultimate flexibility. You can work as much or as little as you want. Whenever you feel like to work, you work. If you need holiday, you take a break. That’s it. The Uber app can be turn off/on easily, indicating your service availability. By this, you can set your own schedule. There is no work which will interrupt your privacy anymore.

Being an Uber driver also makes you your own boss. In most part when becoming Uber driver, there is no boss who regularly scolds you or blames you for the thing you didn’t do. Driver is independent. The catch here is that you need to maintain 4.6 or above rating to not be suspended from driving. Assuming that you are good driver, maintaining this rating should be no-brainer for you.

You can meet new people, literally. Every person that gets in your car can be converted to your network. You will also see new things because many people will bring you to new destinations. And you will know what’s really happening in your town the moment you drive your passengers.

Is there any other job which allows you to listen to music while working? If there is any, is there more fun than driving to incredible places while earning some money for it?

Uber drivers have been increased as the time goes by. You may have realized this. Competition is always challenging. There can be times when you want to earn more money but the demands are too low. In the other side, there are many other drivers who are located nearby the customers. It can be daunting if you are not nearby the clients since other drivers will grab them.

And you will not expect any tip since this job does not allow tips from customers. The other cons is that the rating system. You know that customers can get critical or bossy sometimes and they just selfishly use the rating system to badmouth some drivers. The thing is that the higher ups at Uber do not know much the situations in the field. They don’t recognize the good performance of their drivers. So you are either doing fine, or getting cut. Kind customers’ feedbacks can be the only reasons why you survive in this industry.

Uber also does the criminal background check on the drivers to make sure that the drivers are reliable and sane. When it comes to criminal offenses, Uber clearly states that it has the interests in recruiting people who don’t have criminal past. It is the action taken by the company to ensure that the safeties of the passengers are guaranteed.

In order to cover the passengers, the drivers do not need to purchase commercial insurance. However, personal auto insurance is recommended. And the cost of additional insurance will be granted by Uber’s help. And this also makes the Uber drivers applicants have peace of mind since they don’t have to purchase commercial insurance to get started.

New Uber Driver – Don’t hit the road before you read this

As we know Uber getting popular day by day, and lots of driver signing up for quick cash, some think they can make money driving Uber and it’s so easy cash. But the truth is, out of 100 driver 95% give up within 1 week of driving due to lack of knowledge and having difficulty handling customer or very little knowledge about the city and street.

For anyone interested in making money behind the wheel and especially with Uber, then you have come to the right place. This is because Uber offers so little specific guidance to its new drivers, which is why we hope that this guide will provide new drivers with some helpful information in order to make it easier for them to decide on the right opportunity. Below, therefore, we take a look at few advice, tricks, rules, and strategies for being an Uber driver as

Make sure Your car is clean
People hate Taxi cab because it’s dirty or bad smell. So you have to make sure your car is clean and smell good. Before you start vacuum your car, and put air fresher so it smells good.

Customer Service
Well, most Uber driver keeps water and phone charger in their car, in case customer asks for it. After driving 900 trips, I got only 2 customers who asked for water and 1 customer who asked for phone charger. But it always helps.

Pick up
Once you accept the ping, you will get the address to pick up the person. But not always you will find the customer, as sometimes GPS will drive you crazy or your customer had the wrong address, in that case text him/her wait 2 minutes if no reply, then try to call him/her, ask for their location. If they had to walk 100 feet to get your car, then just say sorry, and say your GPS was driving you crazy.

Always try to talk to customer, some people really like chatting while traveling, but some people don’t. You can always start with weather, sports, festivals, etc. But if they stay quiet or not interested, then just drive quietly.

Between fares, stay put
Whenever you find that you are not getting any pings to pick up customer, it is advisable to pull over somewhere and read a book or just keep yourself busy. Chasing business by trying to move your car a couple of blocks at a time in an effort to get to a busier area does not work and only puts unnecessary mileage on your vehicle, which ultimately costs you about an invisible quarter.

Avoid chasing surge fares
The Uber driver app always comes up with a tempting map of where one can get surge fares ( Red Zone ), which may at times be up to 3 to 5 times the normal price. But try not to succumb to such temptation as the surge is almost always gone by the time you decide to get in range.

If you must go after surge fares, log out until you reach the surge zone
The algorithm employed by the Uber app to calculate surge fares is based on how many people have the driver app open versus how many people have the passenger app open. This means that when a driver with an open app crosses into a surge zone, the supply rises, and the surge consequently decreases. It is thus advisable to always keep the passenger app open and your driver app closed when en route.

The passenger app provides the most accurate map of surge fares
The surge fares reflected in the driver app tend to disappear like a mirage by the time you get to them. This may be partly because the fares that are reflected in the driver app usually run a few minutes slower than what they really are. However, those reflected in the passenger app tend to be updated in real time, so if you are good at multi-tasking, you may use the passenger app to figure out where a surge is likely to be and get there before it shows up on the driver app and every other driver in the vicinity comes flocking in.

Avoid driving more than 10 K.M for a fare
For starters, the extra gas and mileage push your expenses through the roof. Secondly, half the time the passenger will get bored and cancel the trip or find another cab when you are already on your way there. While there is technically a cancellation fee that is supposed to cater for such instances, there are so many loopholes when a driver wishes to recover their costs and it also takes a long time to do so.

Ignore Your Ratings
Most people think rating is important, but for me its least important. Once you keep driving your ratings will go up and down, don’t worry about it as long as your rating stays above 4.5 but I have seen some driver driving with 4.2 ratings.

Drop off
Always make sure there are no bicycle or car while they get out, if there is then warn them. or lock the door and unlock when it safe to get out. This is very important as you don’t want your customer to get hurt.

How to Make Money Driving for Uber

September 17, 2015 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

Unless you live in a cave you have probably heard of Uber and other services of its ilk. By way of introduction, at least for those less esoterically inclined, Uber is an Internet-based company that connects drivers with riders with mutually beneficial ridesharing agreements. Unlike the traditional taxi service, however, Uber allows its drivers to use their own cars and largely determine their own work schedules.

Now there’s Uber, a way of not only summoning a private ride to wherever you want to go, but doing so without a smelly, impersonal taxi, often at nearly half the price. Better yet, Uber allows nearly anyone with a modicum of ambition and a car to begin their new career as a private driver.

Here is a screen shot of a Uber driving earning in 1 week. That will give you an idea, how much you can make, if you drive Uber full time.

Uber provides the connection between drivers and their riders, so instead of riders standing in the rain hailing taxis, riders use an app to request a ride. The app notifies available drivers in a given area so they can offer their services in return for cash.

The good news in this is that riders and drivers are seamlessly connected to arrange a buyer/seller relationship, and since taxis are cut out of the deal, costs are significantly less. This means a big win for both riders and drivers, each of which make money from the deal.

This doesn’t mean that Uber is doing all of this out of the goodness of its heart. On the contrary. Uber has implemented plans to generate at least $10 billion over the next few years, which might not be as unheard of as it might seem since the company’s growth from December 2012 to December 2013 has been reported as an astonishing 369 percent.

Making Money With Uber

It doesn’t take long hearing about growth like that before you get a lot of attention from those looking to get in on the ground floor of a good opportunity. Fortunately, it’s not all that hard to become a Uber driver. Generally, all you need is a smartphone and a post 2009 four-door car, although there are exceptions for those who have a older luxury car, such as a classic Mercedes. but if you’re planning on entering your old clunker as a 2014 Mercedes, you’re out of luck, since Uber does require some sort of inspection, by either a Uber representative or a local car shop.

Uber also, of course, insists that drivers be both sane and free of criminal histories. This might be a pain for those applicants with a criminal history or a drunk driving conviction, but Uber does want to make sure that riders are not getting in the car with an unsafe driver or one with a criminal history.

Another part of ensuring the safety of everyone involved is the requirement that all drivers carry personal insurance. Uber does provide liability insurance up to $1 million and excess collision coverage with $1,000 deductible, all paid for out of a cut from each ride the driver performs.

Getting Rich with Uber

All of the press that Uber has gotten in the past few years has led to considerable confusion over the actual wages that drivers can earn for their work. In fact, initial statements published by the company held that drivers could make at least $90,000 a year working for Uber. First of all, it’s difficult to determine how they came up with those numbers, especially after the report was followed by several publications who sent reporters to work undercover for the company to get the real facts on their pay. Unfortunately, nobody ever seemed to come close to that figure, even in such tech savvy cities as New York and San Francisco. Instead, working reasonable hours, most drivers reported making between $12,000 and $41,000 per year.

Even Uber has backed off of the figures they initially reported as to the earnings of their drivers. According to company officials, a Uber driver in a city such as New York can earn about $25 per hour, which does not factor in the cost of fuel, insurance and other expenses. Some Uber drivers complain that with these costs, their average return is sometimes barely minimum wage. For some drivers, however, making $20 to $30 extra on a given night is great. On a good night, which isn’t too often–but it does happen–a Uber driver can make $500 a night.

How can a Uber driver go about making that kind of money? There’s a trick to it. First of all, you need to be willing to work a lot of hours, especially prime time hours, to make top money. This includes off-hours, holidays, and other prime times. This make it especially difficult to turn down the opportunity to take a fare and turn off the app. Sometimes, however, you simply run out of steam, which making it difficult.

Another important factor that has a lot of Uber drivers screaming foul is the rate cut recently announced by the company, but this still allows for lots of opportunities for drivers who want to earn an income, even part time.

The Long and Short of It

So, this leaves many wondering if Uber is the perfect job. Well, yes and no. There are literally no start up costs, which is a critical factor in many businesses. Also, how many businesses can you really get into where you can call your own hours, take time off without asking for permission, and still make decent money? On the bright side, if you are willing to work hard, able to perform when riders need you, and have a nice car, Uber might be the best deal anywhere. Give it a try. You have very little to lose.

Uber is an Internet-based company that brings together riders and drivers for mutually beneficial ridesharing agreements. However, unlike traditional taxi services, Uber allows its drivers to determine their own work schedules and use their own cars.

The experience is also markedly different on the client’s end as well. Instead of hailing an Uber car or cab on a street corner, clients use the Uber app on their smartphones. Once they request the service, Uber drivers in the area are notified and whoever is closest can provide the ride and also earn some cash. Uber technology is, therefore, the platform that brings together these two pieces of transaction.

Since Uber essentially does all the heavy lifting, the result is a seamless interaction between the driver and the customer. And with profit-seeking taxi companies removed from the equation, Uber negotiated rides are generally much less expensive than the alternative, except in instances when drivers are scarce e.g. during snowstorms and during times of peak demand.

Uber driver requirements- who qualifies?

Besides the mandatory requirement of being at least 21 years old, here are 6 other requirements to become an Uber driver as follows:

  1. Access to a 4-door car, year 2005 model or newer (2006 in some provinces in Canada)

Uber’s vehicle requirements are fairly straightforward- vehicles must have four full doors and meet the year requirement.  Restored’ vehicles and salvage title are not accepted. For those who do not currently have access to an Uber approved vehicle, you can apply to drive first and then get access to a car later. You will, however, have to go through driving record and background checks and once approved as a driver, you can lease, rent, or buy a car.

  1.  Your vehicle must pass Uber mechanical inspections

You can drive 30 days without your inspection, but your car has to undergo inspection by an Uber approved ( you can take your car any garage of your choice ) auto shop in your local area. The inspection should set you back about $20 and examines basic safety and mechanical features of the vehicle such as the status of your seat belts, lights, brakes, and tires.

  1.  Insurance and vehicle registration requirements

Some of the prerequisites include:

  • A photo of the vehicle’s registration even if the car in question is not registered in your name.
  • Your name must be listed on the car’s declaration or insurance card.
  • Your insurance cover must be in Canada although there are exceptions for cities located near the borders of two states or provinces.

It is quite common and legal to drive a vehicle that is not registered under your name so long as you are insured to drive that vehicle. And the same applies to Uber- just ensure that your name appears on the insurance policy declaration.

  1. In-province driving license valid for at least a year

As with the in-province insurance rule, Uber requires drivers to have an driving license for the province you are operating from. Additionally, Uber stipulates that you should be licensed for a year, but your one year of driving does not need to have occurred where you currently reside.

  1.  In-province plates with up-to-date registration

Uber drivers’ cars have to have updated registration tags for the state they plan to offer the service in. It would not augur well for you to chaperon Uber clients in Toronto whilst having Montreal plates.

  1. Pass driving record and background checks

Uber runs thorough driving record and background checks that look back into a driver’s history. You will probably be fine with a few speeding tickets over the years as long as you have not been involved in serious moving violations, DWI, DUI, major accidents, or a criminal record in past. It usually takes 5 business days to complete the background check, and once you approved, they will email you with the apps link, then you can download the apps and start driving.
